According to the legal counsel of the two GMA "independent contractors," Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, her clients Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz have not yet received the formal complaint filed against them by Sandro's camp. The lawyer requested the public to allow the authorities to conduct the investigation and to refrain from making judgments or turning the case into a "publicity trial."

"And though these allegations do not mirror the true accounts of the event, we would like to reserve the right to respond in a proper forum when we receive a copy of the formal complaint,” the legal counsel through GMA Integrated News, reported in “24 Oras,” the flagship newscast of Kapuso Network.

Nones and Cruz's camp also appealed to the public to respect the ongoing investigation. They urged people to avoid making comments and posting information without sufficient basis.

"For the meantime, we urge the public to respect the investigation being conducted on this case and we advise people who have no personal knowledge of the incident to refrain from posting baseless defamatory allegations and therefore unfairly subjecting both parties to publicity trial."

On the afternoon of Thursday, August 1, GMA Network released a statement regarding the formal complaint they received from Muhlach against two independent contractors.

It stated that out of respect for Muhlach's request for "confidentiality," the network will not release any details until the investigation into the incident is completed. Along with this, GMA Network promised the public and stakeholders that their investigation will be fair.
