‘Hello, Love, Again’: Kathryn Bernardo, Alden Richards return for 'Hello, Love, Goodbye' sequel

MANILA, Philippines – It's official! Filipino box office hit "Hello, Love, Goodbye" is having a sequel as announced by Star Cinema and GMA Pictures on Sunday, May 19.

The two giant film outfits will unite for the upcoming sequel dubbed “Hello, Love, Again", the continuation of love story of Ethan (Alden Richards) and Joy (Kathryn Bernardo).

Ethan and Joy are two struggling OFWs who met in Hong Kong and fell in love at the wrong time. Five years later, they will meet again in Canada.

"After fighting for their love to conquer the time, distance and a global shutdown that kept them apart, Joy and Ethan meet again in Canada but realize that they have also changed a lot, individually," entertainment site Deadline reported.

Directed by Cathy Garcia-Sampana, "Hello, Love, Again" is set for theatrical release on November 13 in the Philippines, with international releases to follow.

The first film was released in theaters in 2019. "Hello, Love, Goodbye" ended with Joy pursuing a career in medicine while Ethan opened his own business. Viewers were left hanging whether they ended up together or not.

"I am as excited as all of you perhaps, to find out what Joy and Ethan had gone through after Hello, Love, Goodbye and will be going through in 'Hello, Love, Again,'" Garcia-Sampana told Deadline.

This is the latest partnership between ABS-CBN and GMA after the 2023 teleserye "Unbreak My Heart," and after the noontime show "It's Showtime" began airing on the Kapuso channel earlier this year.

"Hello, Love, Goodbye" was the highest-grossing Philippine film of all time until January 2024, when it was surpassed by Star Cinema's "Rewind," starring Kapuso stars Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes.
