Wowowin on TV5? Willie Revillame sets comeback with a bang

MANILA, Philippines – The unexpected "plot twist" of the noontime shows is currently making a buzz after reports surfaced that TV host Willie Revillame is allegedly set to return to TV5, supposedly seen with the big bosses of the Kapatid Network and Cignal TV.

Speculation arises that "Wowowin" might find a new home again after leaving ALLTV, following the official Facebook page's post showing Willie meeting with TV5 and Cignal executives.

"BREAKING NEWS! TV5's Big Bosses and Kuya Wil Willie Revillame meet! Jane Basas - President of Mediaquest and Cignal TV; Guido Zaballero - President of TV5; John Andal - CFO of Mediaquest; and Attorney Buko (Dela Cruz) of Divina Law," the post reads.

Even Buko Dela Cruz also posted the photo on his Facebook account, located at the TV5 Media Center.

"Wowowee on TV5 ???😊👍" he captioned.

It's not yet certain whether Wowowin will air as pre-programming or after "Eat Bulaga" hosted by TVJ.

Willie stepping into TV5 is not entirely new. It was once his home from 2010 to 2013 with shows like Willing Willie, WillTime Bigtime, and Wowowillie before he moved to GMA Network, for seven years.

He did not renew his contract with GMA in 2022 due to his transfer to ALLTV, the network established by his friend former senator Manny Villar.

Willie left ALLTV barely six months after its soft launch as the network struggled to take off the ground.

September 2023, it seems that the comeback of Willie's show "Wowowin" was reportedly finalized, which will allegedly be aired on two government-owned networks, PTV-4 and IBC-13.

On the official Facebook page of Wowowin, there are purportedly photos showing Willie meeting with executives of the two government-operated networks.

However, 2023 passed without Willie Revillame and Wowowin airing on the mentioned stations. According to scoop from Cristy Fermin, the parties reportedly did not come to an agreement due to alleged additional demands made by the TV host.

As the farewell of "Tahanang Pinakamasaya" aired, speculation arose that Willie might return to GMA Network to bring back Wowowin, or perhaps to lead a new noontime show that would replace the time slot of the lost TAPE Inc. show.

However, with Willie's apparent "soft launch" on TV5, this rumor dissolved, strengthening the speculation that "It's Showtime" from the Kapamilya Channel, which airs on GTV, the sister channel of GMA Network, might replace "Tahanang Pinakamasaya."

What a plot twist, right?
