There were more than 100,000 takers of the UPCAT 2024 according to UP President Angelo Jimenez. This includes at least 37,000 examinees at the UP main campus in Diliman, Quezon City.

You will need the same email account that you used for application to view your application results. If you qualify for admission to UP, register according to the instructions provided by the college or unit to which you have been accepted.

UP also created a microsite dedicated for UPCAT 2024. Visit https://upcat2024online.up.edu.ph/ for more details of UPCAT 2024.

UPCAT 2024 PASSING RATE

Jimenez said "roughly 10 percent" of examinees pass and the university could accept around 15,000 freshmen for the next school year.

Sixty percent of the UPCAT is based on the test, but 40 percent is based on their final grades in Grade 8 to 11 to determine the UP admission grade (UPG).

"Ang batayan ng UPCAT is 60 percent ng weight ay doon sa test, but 40 percent ang batayan natin [from] Grade 8, Grade 9, Grade 10 at Grade 11... doon natin malalaman kung sinong matatanggap," Jimenez said during a televised briefing.

Note: To implement the policy of democratic access, UP also considers socioeconomic and geographic factors in its admission process.

UPCAT Selection Process

Admission into UP is very selective due to high demand. Applicants come from very diverse backgrounds but they are all ranked based on indicators of academic preparedness for university life.

  • Selection for admission to a campus is based on the applicant's rank, campus quota and/or cut-off grade.
  • A successful applicant can receive an offer of admission to only one of the applicant's UP campus choices.

The successful applicants for a given campus are ranked according to grade predictors and quotas of their chosen degree programs. Some degree programs are more competitive due to high demand.

Applicants should choose only degree programs they are interested in. If an applicant is not successful for his/her first choice of campus, the process continues in order of priority of the remaining choices.

UPCAT Coverage

The UPCAT consists of 4 subtests: Language Proficiency (in English and Filipino), Reading Comprehension (in English and Filipino), Science, and Mathematics.
