    FULL RESULTS: March 2023 LET teachers board exam list of passers, top 10

    MANILA, Philippines — The March 2023 Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) or teachers board exam results, together with the official list of passers, topnotchers (top 10), top performing schools and performance of schools for Elementary and Secondary levels are released online on May 19 or in forty-two (42) working days after the exam.

    As announced, 24,819 elementary teachers out of 60,896 examinees (40.76%) and 48,005 secondary teachers out of 102,272 examinees (46.94%) passed the the March 2023 LET.

     It is further announced that of the 24,819 elementary teacher passers, 19,390 are first timers and 5,429 are repeaters. For the secondary teachers, 39,890 passers are first timers and 8,115 are repeaters.

    The results of examination with respect to six (6) examinees were withheld for further validation of their submitted documents; and twenty-five (25) examinees were withheld for final determination of their liabilities under the rules and regulations governing licensure examinations.

    The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) conducted the first regular LET board exam this year on Sunday, March 19, 2023 in at least 37 testing centers nationwide.

    It was originally scheduled on March 26, 2023 but was moved on earlier date due to conflict on schedule with the civil service exams.

    Testing centers include Manila, Baguio, Bohol, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.

    Meanwhile, PRC designated additional test centers to accommodate the influx of examinees taking the teachers' board exam and to avoid unnecessary distant travel and additional expenses on the part of hopefuls: Antique, Bacolod, Bayambang, Calapan, Catanduanes, Cauayan, Digos, General Santos, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Kidapawan, Laguna, Marinduque, Masbate, Mati, Occidental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, and Tagum.

    The Board for Professional Teachers is composed of Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairman; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Vice Chairman; Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy, Members.

    REGISTRATION AND OATHTAKING

    The schedule for the issuance of Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of Registration for Elementary and Secondary level exams will be announced once results are out online.

    The requirements for the issuance of Certificate of Registration and Professional Identification Card (ID) are the following:
    • Notice of Admission (for identification only);
    • downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal;
    • two pieces passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete nametag);
    • two sets of documentary stamps;
    • 1 piece short brown envelope.

    PRC said that successful examinees should PERSONALLY register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

    The date of the oathtaking ceremony of the new successful examinees in the said examinations WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

    HOW TO CHECK LET EXAM SCORE?

    LET board exam's verification of ratings (passers, non-passers and removal) can be done online.

    Visit PRC's "Verification of Rating" service and provide the required information to verify your identity. Note that this will be available in few working days after the release of results.

    WHAT IS THE PASSING RATE OF LET BOARD EXAM?

    To pass the LET, aspirant must obtain an average rating of not less than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.

    Note that passing the teacher licensure exam and having valid professional license from the Commission are necessary before the practice of teaching profession in the Philippines. Otherwise, those who will violate may face fine and imprisonment based on penal provisions.

    COVERAGE OF EXAMINATION

    The March 2023 LET covered two (2) parts for Elementary - General Education (40%) and Professional Education (60%) and three (3) parts for Secondary - General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%) and Specialization (40%).

    The test covered the major areas of General Education (English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences), Professional Education (teaching profession, social dimensions of education, principles of teaching, education technology, curriculum development, facilitating learning, child and adolescent development, assessment of student learning, developmental reading, field study and practice teaching). The 8 specializations for Secondary Teacher with exam coverage depends on the chosen course: English, Filipino, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Values Education, MAPEH and TLTVE (Technology Livelihood, Tech-Voc Education.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Only Mathematics (under Specialization subject) was allowed to use calculator in conjunction with specific features. The modification is pursuant to Resolution No. 25, series of 2019 issued by the Board for Professional Teachers.

    RELEASE OF RESULTS

    Based on the original schedule of LET, per PRC Resolution No. 1589 series of 2022, the target release of March 2023 LET board exam result is 40 working days after the test or can be expected on May 19, 2023.

    The computed total number of workdays excludes 8 Saturdays and Sundays.

    PRC Board News, our partner website for PRC exam results said that the probable release date of March 2023 LET exam results is between May 5 and 19 or in 30-40 working days after the exam.

    Note that results may be released ahead of the target or on later date without prior notice. This is due to several factors such as the total number of examinees, effect of work cancellations due to calamities and unforeseen events and system of checking the pencil-based tests.

    PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS

    In the October 2022 massive Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET), PRC was able to release results after fifty-six (56) working days. A total of 49,783 elementary teachers out of 91,468 examinees (54.43%) and 71,080 secondary teachers out of 139,534 examinees (50.94%) successfully passed the exams. Philippine Normal University (PNU)-Manila was the top performing school for Elementary Level while University of the Philippines Los BaΓ±os (UPLB) and University of the Philippines - Visayas - Iloilo City tied for highest place in the Secondary Level.

    In the June 2022 LET (fourth and final Batch of exam for the postponed board exams in 2020-2021), the PRC released results in 30 working days. The agency named 8,667 elementary teachers out of 17,149 examinees (50.54%) and 10,193 secondary teachers out of 20,191 examinees (50.48%) who passed the exams. None of the schools qualified for the top performing school list for Elementary Level. Meanwhile, Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) was the lone top performing school in the Secondary Level.

    During the Batch 3 LET, results were released earlier than expected or only twenty-five (25) days after the exams. PRC named 10,039 elementary teachers out of 20,567 examinees (48.81%) and 7,809 secondary teachers out of 18,717 examinees (41.72%) successfully passed the teachers board exam. None of the schools qualified for the top performing school list for Elementary Level. Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) - Sta. Mesa was the lone top performing school in the Secondary Level.

    During Batch 2 LET (January 2022), PRC announced results in thirty (30) working days. A total of 8,737 elementary teachers out of 15,696 examinees (55.66%) and 12,074 secondary teachers out of 22,454 examinees (53.77%) passed the tests. Mindanao State University (MSU)-Marawi City topped the schools for Elementary Level while Cebu Normal University (Cebu State College) led the schools for Secondary level.

    In the September 2021 (Batch 1 LET), PRC released results in forty-seven (47) working days after the exam. A total of 4,883 elementary teachers out of 8,726 examinees (55.96%) and 10,318 secondary teachers out of 17,863 examinees (57.76%) successfully passed the exams. Cebu Technological University - Main was the lone top performing school in the Elementary Level while West Visayas State University - La Paz topped the schools in the Secondary Level.

    In the last teacher's board exam before the pandemic (September 2019), PRC announced results in fifty (50) working days. A total of 28,973 elementary teachers out of 92,440 examinees (31.34%) and 54,179 secondary teachers out of 136,523 examinees (39.68%) successfully passed the exams. University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) - Tagum was the rank 1 top performing school in the Elementary Level while UPLB dominated the Secondary level exams.
