Meet the Top 5 of Miss Universe 2022

MANILA, Philippines – The Top 5 of Miss Universe 2022 has been announced.

Moving closer to the much coveted crown are candidates from Curaçao, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, USA and Venezuela.

Miss Universe 2022 Top 5, in order they were called:
  • Curaçao - Gabriëla Dos Santos
  • Dominican Republic - Andreína Martínez
  • Puerto Rico - Ashley Cariño
  • USA - R'Bonney Gabriel
  • Venezuela - Amanda Dudamel

They will all take part in the preliminary question-and-answer round, which will help judges decide on the pageant’s Top 3.

This is the first time in the pageant's history that a drastic cut would be made, from 16 to 5.

These candidates made it to the Top 16 and bowed out of the competition:
  • Haiti - Mideline Phelizor
  • Australia - Monique Riley
  • Laos - Payengxa Lor
  • South Africa - Ndavi Nokeri
  • Portugal - Telma Madeira
  • Canada - Amelia Tu
  • Peru - Alessia Rovegno
  • Trinidad and Tobago - Tya Jané Ramey
  • India - Divita Rai
  • Spain - Alicia Faubel
  • Colombia - María Fernanda Aristizábal

The Philippine bet Celeste Cortesi earlier ended her Miss Universe journey after failing to enter the semi-finals.

Cortesi was eyeing the Philippines’ fifth Miss Universe crown after Catriona Gray in 2018, Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, Margie Moran in 1973, and Gloria Diaz in 1969.

Harnaaz Sandhu of India will crown her successor at the end of the event.

Miss Universe 2022 is still ongoing in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA and is aired live on A2Z Channel 11, Kapamilya Channel, Metro Channel, and iWantTFC in the Philippines.
