MANILA, Philippines – One bettor became an instant multi-millionaire after winning almost Php 50 million from the Ultra Lotto 6/58 draw on Friday, January 20, 2023.

The lone winner, who bought the ticket at a lotto outlet in Iloilo City, Iloilo, hit the winning combination 24-39-31-19-42-13 of the Ultra Lotto 6/58 of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) with a total jackpot prize of Php 49,500,000.00.

The selling agent will get a prize commission of 1 percent of the jackpot prize without exceeding PHP1 million.

As provided in the TRAIN law, lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20-percent final tax. Once the jackpot is claimed by the winner, it would be less 20 percent.

The 6/58 is drawn every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. To join, one must select 6 numbers from 1 to 58 or play Lucky Pick for randomly generated numbers. Each bet costs P20.

The Ultra Lotto was last won on December 30, 2022 by two winners who bought tickets at lotto outlet in Davao City and Tacloban City. They shared a whopping Php 521.3 million jackpot prize.

In the history of lotto in the country, the jackpot of Php 1.18-billion for Ultra Lotto, which was won by two lucky bettors in October 2018, was the biggest so far.

The PCSO urged the public to patronize their lotto games to generate more funds to be used to assist Filipinos.

PCSO serves as the principal government agency for raising and providing funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities of national character.

One of its key programs is the Medical Access Program (MAP), which is designed to augment the medical needs of Filipinos nationwide, particularly hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medicines.

The program is funded by revenues from PCSO games nationwide.
