Lone bettor wins Php 35.3-M Lotto 6/42 jackpot

MANILA, Philippines – Lone bettor became an instant multi-millionaire after winning Php 35.3 million from the Lotto 6/42 draw on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) announced.

The lucky player, who bought the winning ticket at a lotto outlet in Davao City, Davao del Sur, hit the winning combination 34-24-02-06-33-07 with a total jackpot prize of Php 35,314,806.60.

To claim the check, the lucky player must go to PCSO's main office in Mandaluyong City and present the winning ticket and two ID cards.

The selling agent will get a prize commission of 1 percent of the jackpot prize without exceeding PHP1 million.

As provided in the TRAIN law, lotto winnings of more than PHP10,000 shall be subject to a 20-percent final tax. Once the jackpot is claimed by the winner, it would be less 20 percent.

Meanwhile, 27 other bettors guessed five out of the six two-digit winning combinations and won Php 24,000 each, the PCSO said.

About 1,357 bettors got Php 800 each for getting four of the winning combinations while 25,109 bettors won Php 20 each for guessing three right combinations.

Unclaimed prizes within a year shall be forfeited.

The Lotto 6/42 was last won on December 29, 2022 by a lucky bettor who bought the winning ticket from lotto outlet in Capoocan, Leyte.

The 6/42 Regular Lotto is drawn every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

The PCSO urged the public to patronize their games to generate more funds to be used to assist Filipinos.

It serves as the principal government agency for raising and providing funds for health programs, medical assistance and services, and charities of national character.

One of its key programs is the Medical Access Program (MAP), which is designed to augment the medical needs of Filipinos nationwide, particularly hospital confinement, chemotherapy, dialysis, and post-transplant medicines.

The program is funded by revenues from PCSO games nationwide.
