Former mayor of Lamitan, Basilan Rose Furigay and her long-time aide Victor Capistrano were killed in the incident.

Quezon City Police Department Director Brigadier General Remus Medina earlier confirmed a security guard was also killed in the shooting.

Meanwhile, Furigay’s daughter Hanna Rose, who is supposed to graduate from Ateneo Law School today, was wounded.

The still unidentified gunman is already under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the shooting occurred at C5 Katipunan Avenue Ateneo Gate 3 at 2:55 PM.

The GUIDON, the official student publication of the Ateneo, said the "campus is currently on lockdown. Shelter-in-place protocols for those inside campus are being enforced."

The graduation rites of the Ateneo Law School set at 4 pm today was canceled.

Supreme Court spokesperson Brian Hosaka says Chief Justice Gesmundo was supposed to be the guest speaker in the graduation ceremony this afternoon.

"He was still in transit when the shooting happened and was advised to turn back. The Chief Justice is safe," he adds.

A team of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) agents has been sent to campus in order to investigate the situation and lend assistance to school personnel and victims.
