‘Ang Probinsyano’ bids goodbye after 7 years

MANILA, Philippines – Coco Martin, the lead star of ABS-CBN's long-running teleserye “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano" confirmed on Friday, July 22, the show's finale in August 2022.

At the end of the episode tonight, Coco said 'Ang Probinsyano' is now down to its last three weeks after almost seven years of airing.

The finale of 'Probinsyano' is dubbed "Ang Pambansang Pagtatapos."


"Mga Ka-Probinsyano, dumating na po ang oras. Ang programang minahal ninyo ng pitong taon ay nalalapit na po ang pagtatapos.

"Malungkot man na tayo ay maghihiwalay pero walang hanggang pagpapasalamat ang aming nararamdaman. Nagbago man ang mundo, nandiyan pa rin kayo.

"Kahit man po matapos ang teleseryeng ito, hinding-hindi matatapos ang pagmamahal namin sa inyo.

"Kaya kapit lang sa huling tatlong linggo, ito po ang FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano: Ang Pambansang Pagtatapos."


Now the Philippines’ longest-running scripted drama, “Ang Probinsyano” premiered on September 28, 2015, becoming the country’s No. 1 TV show until ABS-CBN was forced off free television in mid-2020.

Migrating to digital platforms, including Kapamilya Online Live, the primetime series steadily grew its viewership, setting record after record. Most recently, it crossed the 300,000-mark in concurrent live viewers in June.

With the exit of Cardo on August 12 comes the arrival of Darna, the beloved Mars Ravelo character to be portrayed by Jane de Leon in ABS-CBN’s TV adaptation.

Aside from the confirmation of 'Ang Probinsyano’s' finale, the Kapamilya network also announced the premiere date of 'Darna' on August 15, Monday.
