Marcos leading in first partial, unofficial Election 2022 results

MANILA, Philippines – Survey frontrunner and former senator Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos is leading the 2022 presidential race, according to the first partial and unofficial results from the Commission on Election (Comelec) transparency server on Monday, May 9, 2022.

As poll precincts closed at 7pm, transmission of election returns or ERs from the vote counting machines (VCMs) has started.

In the initial data (3.20% of ERs) obtained from Comelec server, Marcos received 958,219 of votes.

Behind Marcos is Vice President Leni Robredo in second spot, with 409,608 votes.

Senator Manny Pacquiao follows on third place with 79,668 votes.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso was on fourth place with 54,755 votes.

The 17th president of the Philippines and the successor of President Rodrigo Duterte will be announced in the coming days once the official canvassing of votes started.

“By the seventh day, we can already see the winning president and vice president based on partial and unofficial results,” Commissioner George Garcia said.

“We will have the proclamation of the president by the first week of June,” he added.

More than 65 million registered voters are expected to cast their votes in the historic election during the pandemic.
