Dwight Ramos resumes Gilas duty on February 25 and 27 as Gilas Pilipinas battles New Zealand and India at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The national team is set to face India, their first assignment in the Group A of the tournament. The latter is coming off a 55-point loss from New Zealand on Thursday.

Coach Chot Reyes, who is back in the saddle, is looking for a winning debut in the Asian Qualifiers on Friday, February 25, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. Game time is 6 pm.

UPDATE: Philippines beats India, 88-64. Dwight Ramos had 17 points and four rebounds while Thirdy Ravena added 15 points.


PBA players Troy Rosario, RR Pogoy and Robert Bolick are veterans bannering the Gilas cast.

Kelly Williams, Gab Banal, Poy Erram and Kib Montalbo are four other players rendering duty in this qualifying phase.

Naturalized player Ange Kouame, Thirdy Ravena, Dwight Ramos, Juan Gomez de Liano, Lebron Lopez, Will Navarro, Jaydee Tungcab and Tzaddy Rangel are the Gilas cadets in the 15-man cast.

Gilas load eased off with the withdrawal of South Korea on Wednesday as their national team dealt with COVID-19 issues. Korea was supposed to play two games against the Philippines on February 24 and 28.

At posting time, FIBA has yet to make an official announcement whether South Korea's games will be forfeited in favor of their opponents.

How to watch Philippines vs India FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers?

As COVID-19 restrictions was eased a bit, fans can now watch the games live at the Big Dome. Only the tickets for lower box at P530 and upper box at P215 have been released for sale to allow a limited capacity following the protocols of Quezon City government.

Viewers may also resort to watching on their TV screen via TV5, One Sports or One Sports+.

You may also witness the game through livestream on your mobile device via Cignal Play app and Smart GigaPlay app.

The Nationals are highly favored against the Indians and underdogs against the Kiwis.

Together with Japan, the Philippines is already qualified for the World Cup as co-host of the Final Phase in 2023.
