MANILA, Philippines – The Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT) management released the updated train service schedule for 2021 Christmas holidays and New Year 2022.

LRT-1 Holiday Schedule

LRT-1 will implement shortened service hours on December 24 (Christmas Eve) and December 31 (New Year’s Eve), which were both declared as special working days by the Philippine Government under Proclamation No. 1107.

LRT-1 Holiday Schedule

On Christmas Eve (December 24), the LRT-1’s operating schedule will be from 4:30 am to 8:00 pm (Baclaran) and until 8:15 pm (Balintawak), and 4:30 am to 7:00 pm (Baclaran) and 7:15 pm (Balintawak) for New Year’s Eve (December 31).

NOTE: LRT-1 will continue to serve passengers on December 25, 2021 (Christmas Day), December 30, 2021 (Rizal Day), and January 1, 2022 (New Year’s Day) following the regular weekends/holiday schedule.


LRT-2 Holiday Schedule

The following schedule will be implemented at LRT Line 2 on December 24 and 31, 2021 and January 1, 2022.

"It has been our tradition to reduce operating hours every December 24 & 31 in anticipation of a significant decline in ridership and to allow our station/security personnel to celebrate Christmas & New Year's Eve with their families," LRT2 management announced.

MRT-3 Holiday Schedule

The Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) has also revised its schedule for December 24, 25, 31, 2021, and January 1, 2022.

PNR Schedule

Those looking for the Philippine National Railways (PNR) train schedule may refer to the timetable posted on their website.

As of press time, no announcement yet if there will be a deviation on the normal schedule.

MMDA Advisory

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) implements Modified Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or Number Coding Scheme from 5pm to 8 pm, Monday to Friday, except holidays.
