MANILA, Philippines – The political party of presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has adopted Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte as his vice presidential candidate in the 2022 elections.
The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) released a resolution on Saturday, November 13, adopting Duterte-Carpio and endorsing her for vice president in 2022.
This came after the presidential daughter filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec), through her representative Reynold Munsayac, former Presidential Commission on Good Government acting chair. Duterte-Carpio replaced Lakas-CMD's Lyle Uy.
On Tuesday, Duterte-Carpio dropped her re-election bid for Davao City mayor. A day after, she resigned from her regional party list, Hugpong ng Pagbabago (HNP) and on Thursday, she joined Lakas-CMD, the political party of former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
