PRC in its Resolution No. 1353 cited the "clamor to reconsider the possibility of conducting the NLE at earlier dates due to the urgent call of the government to augment the workforce of the medical professions, especially the Registered Nurses, on the country's battle against COVID-19 pandemic."

The agency clarified that November 21 and 22 schedule will be retained for the second batch of the NLE.

Last month, PRC released Resolution 1350 to reschedule the NLE to later date due to the recent increase of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases and for the safety of the future Nurses and all those who will be involved in the conduct of the NLE.

Since the start of the pandemic, PRC continues to postpone most of the board exams in line with the mandate of the government to prohibit mass gatherings and to avoid spread of disease. Oher health-related board exams pushed through as the country needs workforce to fight the crisis.

In October last year, PRC said they are preparing for technology-based examination or online/computerized board exams.

“We might be able to start with the smaller boards, which will be more manageable,” PRC Chairman Teofilo Pilando Jr. said during the Senate hearing.
