Magnitude 5.8 earthquake hits Occidental Mindoro; tremor felt in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATED) The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported a magnitude 5.8 earthquake that hit Occidental Mindoro, with shaking felt in Metro Manila and nearby areas on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

The exact time of occurrence was recorded at 9:09 a.m. with epicenter near Abra De Ilog in Occidental Mindoro.

The earthquake that occurred has a tectonic origin with 110 km depth of focus.
