What was supposed to be a charitable initiative turned into a nightmare when tragedy happened at the community pantry organized by Angel on Friday.

Inspired by the Maginhawa Community Pantry, the actress organized her own food drive to celebrate her 36th birthday. Angel's pantry was filled with generous goods, some were bear imported brands, that had people anticipating it. As expected, the queue lines were long as people flocked to ask for their share of free goods for those in need.

The initiative started going chaotic as more people scrambled to get ahead and disrupted the lines. The organizers had a hard time imposing the social distancing protocols as people overcrowded and tried to push each other.

On Instagram, Angel shared a video of her apologizing for the chaos that the event caused. She explained that they organized everything and were well-prepared; however they couldn't stop the people who cut the line and violated social distancing rules.

According to Angel, they sought the assistance of the local officials, police, military and barangay who helped them but the crowd became too hard to control.

She apologized for what happened and explained that she just wanted to celebrate her birthday by giving back to people.
