Policeman saves two drowning women in Pangasinan

MANILA, Philippines – While Filipino netizens are still furious at the policeman who killed a mother and her son in Paniqui, Tarlac, everyone is happy to hear the good deeds of another man in uniform who saved the life of two drowning women in Pangasinan.

Patrolman Rey Manandeg of the Tourist Police assigned at Lingayen Baywalk in Lingayen, Pangasinan, was on duty and was patrolling the beach when he heard shouts from the waters. People were shouting for help after spotting two women who were struggling after they were carried by the strong currents.

The women were drowning and getting dragged by the rip currents to the deeper part of the sea.

Without hesitation, this hero policeman ran towards the direction of the commotion and jumped into the sea to help bring the women to shore.

Thanks to the policeman’s swift actions, the two women were saved from drowning off the coast of Lingayen Beach. They were swiftly brought to shore and were assisted to the patrol car moments after they recovered so they can be rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Even after bringing them out of the water, this policeman did not hesitate to also carry the women to the waiting patrol car even if there were other people around to help out. For his actions, this policeman is being hailed a hero by netizens.

It was a good thing that this hero policeman was there to save the two women or they could have died and swept off to sea. Many netizens were happy to hear this news, especially because it came in the heels of the news about the heartless policeman who killed two unarmed civilians over a personal dispute.

“Yan ang pulis na dapat pamarisan! Tumutulong sa kapwa, hindi pumapatay ng mga inosente,” one netizen wrote.

“Hindi naman po kasi lahat ng pulis masamang tao, eh. Marami pa din naman ang matino at tumutulong sa mga nangangailangan dahil yan ang sinumpaan nilang serbisyo,” another commented.
