MANILA, Philippines – Vice President Leni Robredo, Senators Bong Go and Manny Pacquiao are among the names that the Filipinos are eyeing to run as president in the 2020 elections.
This is according to the latest study of possible successor of President Rodrigo Duterte, conducted by political campaign consultancy firm BluePrint.PH.
Here's the list of 16 potential presidential bets in 2022 according to BluePrint.PH study:
According to BluePrint.PH CEO Eero Brillantes, the list was based on "sentiment analysis" on Facebook. They were data taken from social media dated June 1 to November 30 of this year, where they scanned a total of 344,761,479 data points or Facebook engagement such as likes, shares, reactions and comments.
“If we go by our big data metrics, about 16 names are frequently being mentioned on social media, particularly Facebook, as potential presidential candidates,” Brillantes said.
"All have paths to the presidency. Social media networking activities alone through Facebook can generate 22 percent to 35 percent of the votes in 2022,” he added.
Blueprint.PH also used a "tandem analysis" to note the social media networking activities of the personalities on the list. They said that they didn't discriminate on the political colors of the personalities but looked at the possible "tandem" combinations that netizens posted on Facebook.
Personalities with the most media coverage on Facebook are Robredo, Pacquiao, Moreno, Hontiveros, Sara Duterte, Marcos, among others.
Meanwhile, Moreno tops the list in the personality with the most social media interest. He is followed by Robredo, Go and Pacquiao.
