Pokwang lambasts Baninay for causing COVID-19 panic with ‘late upload’ vlog

MANILA, Philippines – Pokwang didn't mince her words when she called out former Pinoy Big Brother housemate Baninay Bautista for her recent vlog admitting she's COVID-19 positive.

Pokwang calls out Baninay

On Twitter, the comedienne lambasted Baninay for causing panic to her and her family after she revealed she has tested positive for COVID-19. Pokwang said Baninay already tested negative since August 2 and her vlog was merely a "late upload."

Earlier, Baninay posted her vlog with the caption, "I am Positive." She and her boyfriend Bont Oropel revealed on separate vlogs that they were infected with coronavirus. Bont's father passed away due to COVID-19.

On Baninay's video, she can be seen being emotional and saying, "Kanina nung nalaman ko, sobrang umiyak ako kasi natakot ako. Naging emotional din ako kasi may fear, kasi alam naman nating walang gamot and all, pero to tell you guys, honestly, sobrang wala kong nafi-feel na kahit ano."

Pokwang said Baninay should have been more careful with the caption she chose for her confession. She said, "Oo, pero sa disclaimer pwede mo ilagay na, “i was covid positive! but im ok now dapat ganon!'"

Baninay's boyfriend Bont defended her and accused Pokwang of sowing hate.

Pokwang said since Baninay was a recent guest of her game show, the production staff confronted her about her vlog confession. Pokwang said she was under so much stress just thinking that her 2-year-old daughter and 80-year-old mother could have been exposed.

Pokwang ended her rant explaining that she had every right to be scared. #BeResponsible," she tweeted.
