Cebu is now the hotspot of COVID-19 in the Philippines, Duterte said.

"Marami sa inyo ang hindi sumunod. Huwag kayong magalit sa akin," he added.

Aside from NCR, the following areas likewise placed under GCQ until July 15:
  • Benguet
  • Cavite
  • Rizal
  • Lapu Lapu City
  • Mandaue City
  • Leyte
  • Ormoc
  • Southern Leyte

The rest of the country will be placed under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ), a low-risk classification.

President Duterte placed the entire Luzon island under ECQ in mid-March to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.

As of Tuesday, the Philippines recorded 37,514 cases of novel coronavirus along with a death toll 1,266 and 10,233 total recoveries.
