Roque on beating UP's COVID-19 forecast: "Panalo na tayo"
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Philippines is winning the battle against COVID-19.

These were Palace Spokesperson and UP Alumnus Harry Roque’s emphatic statement on beating UP Medical Researchers’ 40,000 COVID-19 patients prediction by the end of month on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the Malacanang Palace.

According to the Department of Health, the country has a total of 36,438 confirmed COVID-19 cases as of Monday afternoon that prompted Roque to throw his fist in the air and celebrate the nation’s achievement.

But the majority of the netizens weren’t amaze at the secretary’s declaration especially after hearing from various news sources that there are still over 10,000 backlog COVID-19 test results that could have raised the confirmed cases by more than 40,000.

Roque however denied the 10,000 backlogs and instead countered it by revealing that there are only 1,000 backlog COVID-19 results and it won’t still match with the researcher’s forecast.

"Wala pong katotohanan 'yung 10,000, 1,000 plus na lang po ang ating backlog which means we did not hit 40,000 or we will not hit 40,000 by end of June.

Roque is still confident that once again, the country will beat UP's 60,000 COVID-19 projected number of cases by the end of July.
