October 2020 CPA board exam online application schedule, requirements

MANILA, Philippines – The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced the conduct of October 2020 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) board exam. According to PRC through its Resolution No. 1237 (s.2020), the CPA board exam is scheduled on October 11, 12 and 18, 2020 in NCR, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legaspi, Lucena, Tacloban and Tuguegarao.

Due coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and the declaration of enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) by the government to contain the spread of the illness, the first CPALE this year (May 2020) was rescheduled in October, together with the second batch of accountancy licensure exam this year.

NOTE: PRC said that those applicants who have filed their application for examination and issued Notice of Admission (NOA) will no longer be required to file a new application.
In addition, CPA examinees who are required to take the conditioned subject/s within two years or until May 2020 CPA Licensure Examination (CPALE) shall be allowed to apply and take the October 2020 CPALE.

The opening of online processing for October 2020 CPALE will start on May 25, 2020 and will end on August 26, 2020.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

If you select PRC-Cashier, then you have to pay at the selected appointment place. Other options include LandBank, GCash, UCPB, Paymaya and any debit and credit cards.

PRC advised applicants to secure all requirements before proceeding to selected branch to avoid any inconvenience.

REQUIREMENTS
  • BS Accountancy graduate only
  • NSO / PSA Birth Certificate
  • NSO / PSA Marriage Contract (for married female applicants)
  • Transcript of Records with scanned picture and Remarks "For Board Examination Purposes"
  • Valid NBI Clearance (First Timers and Repeaters)
  • After two (2) failures, REFRESHER COURSE, effective October 1976
  • Conditioned/Removal Examination - to be taken within two (2) years from the date of examination.
  • Payment: P900.00 - complete
  • Payment: P450.00 - conditioned/removal

PREVIOUS EXAMINATIONS

In the October 2019 CPALE, results were out in six (6) working days. PRC named 2,075 out of 14,492 who passed the series of exams. Justine Louie Bautista Santiago from University of Santo Tomas (UST) led the passers with 90.33%. University of the Philippines (UP) - Diliman was the lone top performing school with 84.21% passing rate.

In the May 2019 CPA board exam, PRC announced results after five (5) working days. A total of 1,699 out of 10,319 passed the tests. Josemaria Alvaro Cabarrus Fontillas and Geraldine Jade Frayco Papa, both from De La Salle University - Manila garnered the highest place with 89.83%. DLSU-Manila was also hailed top performing school with 84.72% passing rate.

UPDATES AND RELEASE OF LET RESULTS

Based from PRC Resolution No. 1210 s. 2019, the target release of CPA results is on October 26, 2020. With the addition of takers from the postponed May exam, delay on announcement of results is also expected.
