"The Chinese experts arrived with invaluable firsthand experiences to share on fighting and containing Covid. Thank you China," Locsin tweeted.
Composed of 10 medical experts and 2 officials, they will provide technical advice on the prevention and control of COVID-19 in the country. They also brought in masks, personal protective equipment and non-invasive ventilators, the DFA said.
China, where the new strain of virus originated, recently saw a slowdown in its cases, the Department of Health earlier said.
Meanwhile, Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases spokesperson Karlo Nograles on Saturday said the visit of Chinese medical experts has been authorized by the government.
As of Sunday, April 5, the Philippines had total confirmed COVID-19 cases of 3,246. This number includes 64 recoveries and 152 deaths.
