Kim Chiu's van shot in QC; actress safe

MANILA, Philippines – Two unidentified gunmen onboard a motorcycle shot the vehicle carrying actress Kim Chiu on Wednesday morning, March 4 in Quezon City. The Kapamilya star and her companions were unharmed, reports said.

"Kim Chiu, her personal assistant, and driver are all safe from the shooting incident," ABS-CBN's Jervis Manahan reported.

"Thank God Kim Chiu and her companions are unharmed," AdProm Head at ABS-CBN also confirmed.

Driver Wilfredo Taperla said 6 gunshots were fired towards their vehicle.

They were en route to a taping of her television series "Love Thy Woman" when the incident happened around 6:10 a.m. at the corner of Katipunan Avenue and CP Garcia Avenue.

"Di namin napansin na may putukan sa likod, dito pala sa amin pinatama. Kami pala ang pinapaputukan," Taperla told ABS-CBN News.

Reports added that one bullet hit the spot where the actress normally studies her drama script. Kim was sleeping and lying down in a different part of the vehicle when the vehicle was shot.

Kim was shaken and had emphasized during their phone call with ABS-CBN anchor Jorge Cariño that she had no enemy.
