MANILA, Philippines – Marcelito Pomoy impressed the judges of "America's Got Talent: The Champions" with his rousing performance.

The Filipino singer who was the grand champion of "Pilipinas Got Talent" in 2011, is now on a bigger stage as he competes in one of the biggest talent search worldwide.

Before his performance on "America's Got Talent," Marcelito went on stage with his wife, Joan who explained she was just on stage to give her support. In a short video, Marcelito shares his moving rags-to-riches story from being an orphan to a national singing champion. With tears, Marcelito said he joined the "Pilipinas Got Talent" to find his family, which he eventually did.

Marcelito sang Andrea Bocelli's "The Prayer," both the male and female parts. The judges couldn't believe their ears and were clearly shocked with Marcelito's talent. When he finally ended his song, the judges were on their feet giving him a standing ovation.

Even the hard to impress judge, Simon Cowell gave him a perfect score of 10. He told Marcelito, "That was what I call a 10, as simple as that. I have a feeling that the super fans will put you through to the next round."

Judge Howie Mandel was also impressed with Marcelito's unique performance. He said, "That was so unique, you are a beautiful, wonderful singer with a young woman trapped inside of you."

Judge Alesha Dixon also praised the one-of-a-kind performance saying, "I want to see something different, something unique and Marcelito you just gave that to us. It was absolutely brilliant."

Judge Heidi Klum, who was one of those who first stood up to give her applause was clearly impressed as well. She said, "Honestly, this is one of the craziest things I ever heard in my entire life. Your voice, your range, your sound is just so out of this world."
