Ginebra is just a win away from the Governors’ Cup Finals

MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra San Miguel is just a win away from the Finals after punishing Northport Batangpier anew, 132-105 in Game 3 of their best-of-five 2019 Governors’ Cup Semis Showdown on Wednesday, December 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel’s Justin Brownlee and Japeth Aguilar joined forces to extend their winning momentum to 2 in the Governors’ Cup semis.

Kings’ resident import, Brownlee had another solid double-double outing with 41 and 11 while high flying Aguilar chipped in 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 monster blocks.

Stanley Pringle, LA Tenorio and Jeff Chan were also in double figures to help their team secure a 2-1 series lead.

Aside from a well-balanced scoring, Ginebra also lived up in an unselfish style of basketball with 36 assists.

Meanwhile, the short-handed Northport Batang Pier just relied on its reinforcement Michael Qualls and new go-to-guy Christian Standhardinger who had 32 and 20 points respectively.

The Gin Kings posted a humongous lead early in the game and never looked back to put Batangpier in the brink of eliminations.

Ginebra can finish off Northport on Friday, December 20 and grab the first Governors’ Cup Finals seat.
