NU Pep Squad claims 6th title, back-to-back championship in 2019 UAAP CDC

MANILA, Philippines – Still the league's best!

The National University (NU) Pep Squad retained its crown in the highly anticipated UAAP Cheerdance Competition (CDC) on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The defending champion doesn't want to give the title to anyone else with their jaw-dropping SariManok routine.

The NU Pep Squad won their sixth CDC title with their Philippine culture-inspired performance in time for the country’s hosting of the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games starting November 30.


The Sampaloc-based squad dominated the competition with overall score of 722 followed by Far Eastern University (FEU) Cheering Squad and the Adamson Pep Squad with 706 and 658.5 points, respectively.



NU received Php 50,000 cash prize while the FEU and Adamson took home Php 25,000 and Php 20,000 cash prize, respectively. Other cash prizes from the sponsors were also given.

Further cementing its dominance in this year's competition, the NU Pep Squad also emerged on top of the Group Stunts category. They also bagged three of the four special awards namely: Yamaha Best Toss, AXA's Best Stunt and Juicy Cologne's Best Pyramid.
