The body of the former member of girl group f(x) was found by her manager on the second floor of the house.

Investigation is now ongoing on the cause of her death but police said the 25-year old star had been suffering from "depression."

"So far, it seems she killed herself, but we will leave all possibilities open and investigate," a police official said.

SM Entertainment, the agency handling Sulli, also released official press statement on her sudden passing.

"We are sorry for having to deliver such sad and regrettable news. Sulli has left us," the agency wrote.

"We cannot believe the current situation, and we are struck with grief," the talent agency added.

Sulli, whose real name is Choi Jin-ri, took a yearlong hiatus in 2014 due to alleged online bashing and rumors.

Sulli left the group a year after to focus on acting projects before returning to the music scene as a solo artist. She released her single "Goblin" in June 2019.
