MANILA, Philippines – A teacher is going viral for her unique way of greeting her students everyday.

For Teacher Girlie Laguerta Dela Cruz, handling kinder students require a certain kind of patience and love. Because she is dealing with young kids, separation anxiety from their parents usually happens, especially during the first day of school.

Thus, the creative teacher came up with a unique way of greeting her students everyday. The students would line up and before they enter, they would choose the type of greeting to Teacher Girlie.

Kudos, Teacher Girlie!

Students can choose from heart for a hug, a high 5, a handshake or a fist bump from a chart she made.

Teacher Girlie said she started the initiative because she wanted her students to feel comfortable in school.

She said, "Para po maramdaman ng mga bata yung belongingness sa school. Lalo na po sa aming mga kinder teachers, mahirap po sa first day of class na may mga batang umiiyak."

The kind teacher said she has seen the improvement and positive reaction of the morning greeting to her students.

Teacher Girlie shared that her chart of morning greeting is now a very important part of her students' school life.

The video has gone viral after netizens lauded the teacher's care for her students. It has been viewed by 8.9 million times and shared over 100,000 times.
