The LTO released Memorandum Circular 2019-2167 dated May 14, 2019 but was released for publication on June 10, 2019 mandating all Driver’s License Renewal Offices (DLROs) in malls to open even on Saturdays, starting June 2019.

The memorandum states, “To fully maximize the accessibility and availability of our services to the public in malls, effective June 2019, all DLROS are hereby required to operate and process applications for renewal of driver’s license and issue student permits on Saturdays.”

“All DLRO heads are directed to coordinate with the respective malls or commercial centre managers as to the operating hours.”

It was signed by LTO Assistant Secretary Edgar C. Galvante ordering strict compliance.

LTO reminded motorists that they can now renew the driver’s license in advance, even 60 days before it actually expires.

The agency stated, “To avoid penalty, earlier memo from LTO also allows renewal of driver’s license two (2) months or 60 days advance.”

LTO also urged motorists to make use of their online appointment system for a more hassle-free transaction. The LTO Online Appointment and Scheduling System can be accessed by logging on to www.lto.net.ph.

LTO shared that they remain committed in making sure motorists renew their driver’s license “easier and more convenient for all.”
