MANILA, Philippines – The 'Battle of Katipunan' begins today, December 1 as the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons and Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU) Blue Eagles square off for Game 1 of the best-of-three UAAP Season 81 men's basketball Finals. This is a magical year for the UP Fighting Maroons after clinching UAAP Finals berth in 32 years. Will the fate continue to favor them in the last stretch of the tournament?

Last Wednesday, UP knocked out Adamson erasing the latter's twice-to-beat advantage in the semis.
UP's leading players Bright Akhuetie, Juan Gomez de Liano, and team captain Paul Desiderio are hoping to keep making history against all odds.
Meanwhile, top-seeded team Ateneo is looking for their back-to-back championships.
The Blue Eagles are heading into the Finals on an eight-game winning streak since the end of the first round of elimination. The strong team is bannered by Ivorian tower Angelo Kouame and stalwart Thirdy Ravena.
Tip-off time is 3:30 pm at the Mall of Asia Arena.
