The Nationals are currently in 3rd place (5-3 record) and looking for more wins against fifth-ranked Kazakhstan (3-5).

Only the top 3 teams per group will enter the World Cup in China next year.

Previous match against the Kazakhs was in the 2018 Asian Games where the Philippines won with 37 points lead behind Pringle's 18 points.

"Sa nangyari doon sa Asian Games, I'm sure they'll make adjustments," Gilas head coach Yeng Guiao said.

Guiao told reporters that they are heading to the Friday's game with the same approach and game plan but also ready in case the opponent will make major change on the strategy.

Tip-off time is at 7:30 pm.
