MANILA, Philippines – Classes have been suspended in several areas on Monday, October 29, 2018 due to the inclement weather brought by Typhoon Rosita (international name: Yutu).

State weather bureau PAGASA announced on Sunday the possible hoisting of Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals over the Eastern section of Northern and Central Luzon tonight, October 28.

"Moderate to heavy rains directly associated with the Typhoon is expected over Central and Northern Luzon starting tomorrow evening (October 29). Flooding and landslides are possible. Travel by land and sea is risky, " PAGASA said.

In addition, weather central added that Signal No. 1 may be raised over Metro Manila by tomorrow evening (October 29).

LUZON
  • Abra - all levels, public and private (until Wednesday, October 31)
  • Cagayan - all levels, public and private
  • Isabela - all levels, public and private (until Wednesday, October 31)

According to the automatic class suspension guideline by DepEd, LGUs have the authority to declare local suspensions in areas where there is no storm signal.
