Typhoon Gardo (Maria) PAGASA weather update July 10, 2018

MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Gardo (international name: Maria) has slightly weakened but it continued to enhance the southwest monsoon (Habagat), state weather bureau PAGASA announced in a press briefing on Tuesday morning, July 10, 2018.

'Bagyong Gardo' now has maximum winds of 170 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gustiness of up to 210 km/h.

The weather disturbance is spotted at 760 kilometers east northeast of Basco, Batanes, and moving west northwest at 30 km/h.

PAGASA did not raise any warning signal and said that Gardo is not expected to make landfall in the country.

The Southwest Monsoon is affecting Metro Manila, Luzon and Visayas.

Meanwhile, strong to gale force winds is expected to affect the following seaboards:

The weather central added that Gardo, the 7th tropical cyclone for 2018, is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between Tuesday evening (July 10) and Wednesday early morning (11 July).
