Filipino contestant in Belgium’s Got Talent enters grand finals

    MANILA, Philippines – The Filipino- Belgian mixed martial artist finalist with his dance partner in the Belgium's Got Talent are all set to impress everyone for the upcoming grand finals on May 26 (Manila time).

    Fresh from winning the Jujitsu World Championship for the third time, Ian Lodens is showing some “Pinoy pride” as he joins Belgium's biggest talent search. Lodens, with his friend Natascha Van Es’ impressive acrobatic dance has amazed the judges and the audience. The dance duo got the highest number of text votes during the semifinals and are now on their way to the grand finals.

    Lodens said that his training with jujitsu and combat sport helped develop his speed and strength in dancing.

    The acrobatic dancer admitted that their journey to the grand finals wasn't easy. He shared, “The feeling I had during the audition was really stressful. I didn't do it for a long time and it’s something different than martial arts. It was really crazy but when the judges say yes, it was really amazing.”

    Loden’s Filipina mom, who hails from Quezon City continues to ask support for her son. She said, “"Proud ako na world jujitsu champion si Ian at mas lalo na ngayon na nasa finals siya ng 'Belgium's Got Talent.' Kaya mga kababayan ko, sana suportahan niyo sina Ian at Natascha.”

    The judges were impressed with Ian and Tasha’s audition piece. Their dance earned them a standing ovation from the judges and audience. One of the judges, Dan Karaty said, “When the two of you are together, that's when your act is at best. When you break apart, set apart, that's good. When you're together, you're dancing together. You're a great team. I love it."
