MANILA, Philippines – Kapamilya star Anne Curtis selflessly helped a fan finish her college education.
Anne Curtis was more than proud of Sareena Calonzo, a devoted fan who became her scholar. The It’s Showtime host shared on Instagram how she and Sareena met. She wrote, “Several years ago, I met a young girl named @sareenacalonzo. She would come to my mall shows, come watch showtime and hang out with @realf2 if we had gathering. And one day, the time came she needed my support.”
The Kapamilya actress added that she believed in Sareena so much that she didn’t think twice in helping her finish her studies. She said, “ I have always had faith in her. And wanted to help her in pursuing her biggest dream And today... SHE GRADUATED!
Anne said that she hopes more people would be inspired by Sareena’s determination to achieve their goals in life. The actress-host said, “May you be an inspiration to others that there is never a mountain too high or a dream too big. And may you also pay it forward one day and make someone else's dream come true too. Big hug! Love you! Congratulations."
On Sareena’s Instagram, the proud fan was grateful for her “Ate Anne’s” help. She wrote, “THIS IS IT! CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH, ATE ANNE!"
Sareena earned her college degree at Miriam College and Anne’s name appeared in their list of “Talaan ng mga Tagapagtaguyod ng mga Magtatapos na Iskolar sa Kolehiyo ng Miriam.”
Anne’s Dream Machine Project
Sareena’s story is only of the many wishes granted through Anne Curtis’ passion project, the Dream Machine Philippines.
The Dream Machine Philippines was launched last year as Anne’s platform to help others in need. The actress said, “Dream Machine will be a platform wherein people who want to want to pursue their dreams or make their dreams happen can be vocal about it on the website and hopefully we can make these dreams come true for you.”
Aside from granting small wishes of cellphones, the Dream Machine has also touched the lives of many young dreamers such as Pio, who is battling a serious disease.
