A Facebook post by Cristobal Gutano Manopol is going viral after he shared an incident he witnessed in Philippine General Hospital (PGH). Manopol revealed that he was appalled to see as hospital staff ask a senior citizen to stand up, got his seat away and locked the chairs near the window. The staff insisted that they have a 1-chair, 1-patient policy. The senior citizen man already gave his chair to his 75-year-old wife.

Manopol said that the staff forcibly took the chair away, “Pilit na kinuha ng caretaker sa hospital ang silyang inuupuan nito dahil sobra na sa 1 ang silya sa kanilang pasyente.”

Although he understood the policy, Manopol couldn’t help but feel sorry for the old man who had to stand up while there are stacks of chair just locked up ready to be used.

He said, “Mas ginusto pa ng pamunuan na naka-kadena ang mga silya sa may bintana ng hospital kaysa ipagamit sa mga bumibisitang senior citizen.”
