#WalangPasok: July 14, 15, 19, 21, 22, 2017 local holiday declared in selected areas

    MANILA, Philippines - Malacañang Palace has declared June 14, 15, 19, 21, 22, 2017 as special non-working holiday in selected areas for the celebration of important events.

    Local holidays for this month were proclaimed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte through Executive Secretary Salvador C. Medialdea.


    Proclamation numbers 247 to 252 and 254 to 255 declare special non-working day in the following areas: Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR); Calabanga, Camarines Sur; Mauban, Quezon; Guihulngan, Negros Oriental; Nabunturan, Compostela Valley; General Santos City; Digos City, Davao del Sur and Mabalacat, Pampanga.

    Observances and celebrations include foundation day, cityhood anniversary and festival. Note that such holidays are applicable only to the immediate area concerned.

    Proclamation No. 247: Celebration of 30th Foundation Day of the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) on Saturday, July 15.

    Proclamation No. 248: Celebration of Foundation Day in the municipality of Calabanga, Camarines Sur on Saturday, July 15.

    Proclamation No. 249: Celebration of "Araw ng Mauban" in the municipality of Mauban, Quezon on Saturday, July 15.

    Proclamation No. 250: Charter Day celebration in the city of Guihulngan, Negros Oriental on Friday, July 14.

    Proclamation No. 251: Celebration of 60th Founding Anniversary in Nabunturan, Compostela Valley on Friday, July 21.

    Proclamation No. 252: Celebration of Indigenous Peoples 3rd Blaan Day in General Santos City on Saturday, July 22.

    Proclamation No. 254: Celebration of Padigosan Festival in Digos City, Davao del Sur on Wednesday, July 19.

    Proclamation No. 255: Celebration of Cityhood Anniversary in Mabalacat, Pampanga on Friday, July 21.

    Malacañang Palace said that it is proper that the people on the said areas be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

    As defined in the Administrative Code of 1987, Book III, Chapter 2, Section 4, Proclamations are "acts of the President fixing a date or declaring a status or condition of public moment or interest, upon the existence of which the operation of a specific law or regulation is made to depend, shall be promulgated in proclamations which shall have the force of an executive order."
