Manila, Philippines - State weather bureau PAGASA on its 5p.m. update, July 16, 2014 lowered public storm warning signals as Typhoon Glenda (international name: Rammasun) moves away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
PAGASA said that 'Glenda' is now over the West Philippines Sea moving towards Bajo de Masinloc, Zambales.
At 4:00 PM today, the eye of Typhoon “GLENDA” was located based on all available data at 160 km West of Zambales (15.0°N, 118.8°E).
'Glenda' has a maximum sustained winds of 140 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 170 kph. It is forecast to move West Northwest at 24 kph.
Typhoon “GLENDA” will be at 630 km West of Dagupan City or outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow afternoon (July 17).
PUBLIC STORM WARNING SIGNAL #1 (Winds of 30-60 kph is expected in at least 36 hours): Laguna, Batangas, northern part of Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Zambales, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Bulacan, Rizal, Cavite, Lubang Island, Pangasinan and Metro Manila
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the western seaboard of Luzon.
The public and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin.

- Some banana plants may tilt or land flat on the ground
- Rice in flowering stage may suffer significant damage
