San Mig Coffee enters PBA Finals, defeats Barangay Ginebra, 110-87

Manila, Philippines - [UPDATED] Do-or-die game 7 is over. San Mig Super Coffee Mixers defeats Barangay Ginebra, 110-87 and officially entered the Finals of the 2014 PBA Philippine Cup on Wednesday, February 12  at the jam-packed Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

San Mig Coffee Mixers will face the well-rested Rain or Shine Elasto Painters who defeated Petron in 5 games.

San Mig will attain their 25th PBA Finals appearance, second straight and fourth in the last 6 conferences under Coach Tim Cone.

James Yap was named Best Player of the game for having 30 points and 6 rebounds. The San Mig Super Coffee Mixers superstar scored 24 of his 30 points in the first half enough to fuel his team for the victory.

“Sarap lang maglaro kasi sobrang dami ng tao,” James Yap said.

“I’m kinda stunned,” said San Mig Coffee coach Tim Cone to InterakTV. “Really a stunning performance by us. Great shooting, wow! I didn’t do anything tonight, these guys did it all.”

San Mig Coffee Mixers claimed Games 1, 3, 5 and 7 while the Gin Kings equalized in Games 2, 4 and 6. Almost all of their games ended via down-the-wire finishes.

According to PBA, Game 7 sets all-time record attendance as the Manila Clasico finale drew 24,883 fans and supporters to the Big Dome.
