The Voice of the Philippines premieres June 15 | Blind auditions highlights

Manila, Philippines - The most awaited singing reality show that conquered the world of music, 'The Voice' is set to premiere today, June 15, 2013 on ABS-CBN. The Philippines is now ready to hear the best voices as the 'blind auditions' phase is about to begin.

The Voice of the Philippines highlights the finest judge-mentors in the country- apl.de.ap, Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo and Lea Salonga who will choose unique voices through the blind auditions. Each coach must pick 12 artists for their respective teams who will advance to the next rounds of competition — the Battle Rounds and the Live Shows.

Preparation for The Voice of the Philippines started September 2012 as the team conducted first on-ground auditions for the Filipinos in the US.

Series of pre-screening to search for the raw but amazing talents were done from January to March 2013 through The Voice ng Radyo, Online and On-ground auditions.

The Voice franchise in the Philippines is one of the most talked-about show online long before its premiere this month. Filipinos around the world are excited to see the four judges on how they will select their respective 'artists'.

The show’s primer Mic Test: The Voice of the Philippines Primer also made it to the top trending topics on the micro-blogging site Twitter when it aired last June 9.

The Voice is currently the world's no.1 singing competition with unique format boasting auditions that are based solely on vocal ability. The show was started in Netherlands in 2010 and currently aired over 40 countries.  One of the popular version is the franchise from US where Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton, Shakira and Usher sat in the iconic red swiveling chairs as celebrity coaches.

Multimedia star Toni Gonzaga will host the show with V reporters Robi Domingo and Alex Gonzaga.

Blind Auditions Update

Thor Dulay, a 32-year-old back-up singer to comedian Vice Ganda, was faced with a tough decision on who to pick among the four superstar-coaches of "The Voice of the Philippines" after impressing them with his rendition of the Whitney Houston hit "I Have Nothing."
