San Beda College of Law grad tops Bar Exam 2014 (Topnotchers List)

MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) has named on Thursday, March 26, 2015 the passers of the October 2014 bar exam conducted at the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in España, Manila. Irene Mae Alcobilla, graduate of San Beda College of Law Manila topped the bar exam with 85.50% average grade.

Christian Drilon of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and Sandra Mae Magalang, graduate of University of the Philippines (UP) - Diliman ranked second and third respectively with 84.45 and 84.60% grade.

SC said that a total of 1,126 out of 5,984 (18.82%) successfully hurdled the tests given by the bar committe led by Supreme Court Associate Justice Diosdado Peralta.

SC on Thursday announced that for bar 2014, they received 6,370 applications but 6,344 were admitted to take the exams. A total of 5,996 showed up on first Sunday but only 5,984 completed all the exams.

The Bar exams are believed to be the most difficult among licensure examinations.

Nielson G. Pangan, graduate of the University of the Philippines (UP) topped the 2013 bar examinations with a rating of 85.80%.
