MANILA, Philippines – Three suspects, including a foreign national, were arrested after an alleged robbery along Amorsolo Street in Makati City that triggered a police chase on Thursday night, September 3, 2026.

Police cordoned off part of Amorsolo Street near Makati Cinema Square (MCS) as heavily armed officers responded to reports of the incident amid rush-hour traffic.
According to police, witnesses heard a woman calling for help after a male suspect allegedly attempted to forcibly take her or make her go with him.
“According sa mga witnesses, etong babae humihingi ng tulong,” a police officer said, explaining that security personnel in the area immediately radioed for assistance.
“May security kasi sa area na eto. So, naitawag sa radio. Nakatawag po sa Makati Police,” the officer added.
Police said their quick response allowed them to intercept the suspects, who allegedly attempted to escape using vehicles, resulting in a brief chase through the area.
“Maaga po tayong nagresponde kaya naharangan po etong mga suspek natin. Nagkaroon ng konteng habulan. Na-corner natin ang suspek,” the police officer said.
Three individuals were arrested, including a foreign national, while other suspects reportedly managed to escape and remain at large.
A witness who said they were inside a nearby massage establishment described the tense situation, saying, “Dali-dali ako nagbihis at nagtago sa ilalim ng massage table kasi takot ako baka magkaputukan.”
The witness also said police were pursuing another individual who allegedly fled in a black car, although the account could not independently confirm whether the person was among the suspects.
Another witness account posted on Reddit described a man in a black hoodie allegedly being chased by several people toward Gamboa, although it was not immediately clear whether he was among the suspects pursued by police.
“May nakasalubong akong lalaki na nakablack hoodie na hinahabol ng maraming lalaki. Lumusot siya sa Gamboa,” the witness said.
Authorities allegedly recovered firearms and suspected illegal dr*gs from the suspects or the vehicles involved in the operation.
Two victims are now under police custody and are expected to provide statements to help investigators establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Police will also review CCTV footage from the area as part of efforts to identify and locate the suspects who escaped.
The incident sparked reports on social media describing it as a possible kidnapping, but police have so far characterized the case as an alleged robbery while the investigation remains ongoing.
