Coverage of Examinations
The March 2026 LET consisted of two parts for Elementary (General Education – 40% and Professional Education – 60%). Meanwhile, both Elementary with Specialization and Secondary levels had three parts: General Education (20%), Professional Education (40%), and Specialization (40%).
The exam evaluates key areas of General Education, including English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science, and Social Sciences.
It also assesses Professional Education, covering essential topics such as the teaching profession, social dimensions of education, principles of teaching, educational technology, curriculum development, learning facilitation, child and adolescent development, student assessment, developmental reading, field study, and practice teaching.
Specialization subjects cover Early Childhood Education and Special Needs Education for the Elementary Level; and for the Secondary Level: Culture and Arts Education, English, Filipino, Mathematics, Physical Education, Science, Social Studies, Technology and Livelihood Education (TLEd) – Agriculture and Fishery Arts, Industrial Arts, Home Economics, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), as well as Values Education.
The new specializations are based on the amendment of the Teacher Professionalization Act of 1994, marking a major overhaul of the LET after three decades. This reform aligns the examinations with specific teacher training programs, ensuring their relevance to the evolving needs and demands of the teaching profession.
