According to a report by GMA Regional TV One North Central Luzon, Rolan Popatco Jr. has been recognized by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) as the first Aeta in Pampanga to become a licensed medical technologist.

Rolan’s journey to success was far from easy. Growing up in a mountainous area, he faced numerous challenges, including limited access to basic resources and educational opportunities. Determined to pursue his dreams, he made the difficult decision to leave his community and move to town to continue his studies.

Despite financial constraints, Rolan persevered with the help of scholarships provided by the government and various institutions. Through hard work and dedication, he completed his degree, earning a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.

For Rolan, his achievement goes beyond personal success. He emphasized that his accomplishment is not only for himself and his family, but also for his community. He highlighted the urgent need for improved healthcare services among Aeta communities, where access to medical care remains limited.

Driven by this mission, Rolan shared his aspiration to become a doctor someday. He hopes to bring healthcare services closer to his community and provide assistance to fellow Aetas who often struggle to receive proper medical attention.

His story stands as a powerful inspiration—not only for his fellow Aetas but also for young Filipinos everywhere who dream of finishing their education and serving their communities.
