MANILA, Philippines – Several local government units (LGUs) have announced the suspension of classes on Thursday, January 15, 2026, due to Tropical Depression Ada.
This list will be updated as soon as local or national authorities make their advisories.
Bicol Region

- Buhi – no face-to-face classes in all levels, public and private
- Sorsogon – no face-to-face classes in all levels, public and private; until Friday, January 16

According to PAGASA’s 5:00 PM bulletin on Wednesday, the center of Tropical Depression Ada was estimated based on all available data at 545 km East of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.
Bagyong Ada carries maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 55 km/h, and central pressure of 1004 hPa.

Ada is expected to move generally northwestward over the next three days.
On its forecast track, it may pass close to or make landfall in Eastern Visayas on Friday, January 16, or early Saturday morning, January 17. It is then likely to pass near or make landfall in Catanduanes on Saturday or Sunday, January 18, before turning generally northeastward over the waters east of Luzon.
Ada is forecast to reach Tropical Storm strength within the next 24 hours and is expected to gradually intensify as it moves over the Philippine Sea.
