In a Facebook post published on Tuesday, December 16, Pokwang addressed the controversy surrounding the video, which shows a driver of a white Toyota Hilux assaulting the cart-pushing father. The incident sparked widespread public outrage after circulating online.

Pokwang acknowledged the man’s identity, saying it was true that he is her sibling. However, she was quick to distance herself from his actions, emphasizing that sharing the same surname does not mean sharing the same values or behavior.

Galing, ano?” she said.

The comedienne also expressed her apology to the victims, particularly the child who was seen crying during the incident. She extended her sympathy to the family and asked for forgiveness on behalf of her brother.

In addition, Pokwang revealed her intention to personally visit the child involved in the incident.

The comedienne also criticized netizens and some politicians for allegedly exploiting the controversy by sharing photos of her entire family on social media.

Meanwhile, authorities have taken action against the driver. The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has suspended his driver’s license for 90 days as investigations into the incident continue.

The case remains under review as officials determine possible additional penalties related to the assault and road rage incident.
