MANILA, Philippines — Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre’s Call Me Mother continues its strong box-office run, holding on to the top spot in the 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) on the second day of screenings, December 26.

Trailing at a distant second is the horror anthology Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins, while Angelica Panganiban and Zanjoe Marudo’s drama Unmarry secured third place in the unofficial rankings.

The drama sequel Bar Boys: After School placed fourth, followed by the romantic drama Love You So Bad, starring Will Ashley, Bianca de Vera, and Dustin Yu, which rounded out the top five.

Meanwhile, the exact rankings for the remaining entries—social romance film I’mPerfect, crime thriller Manila’s Finest, and family drama Rekonek—remain undetermined, although they are currently occupying the sixth to eighth spots based on partial data.

On the festival’s opening day, Call Me Mother reportedly grossed around ₱49.6 million, accounting for nearly half of the MMFF’s total Day 1 box-office earnings.

According to reports, the total gross after the second day reached approximately Php 153 million.

Consistent with previous editions of the festival, the MMFF Executive Committee has decided not to officially disclose box-office figures or rankings during the festival run, leaving producers to announce earnings at their own discretion.

Industry observers expect possible shifts in the rankings following the Gabi ng Parangal (Awards Night) on December 27. The official box-office figures and final rankings are expected to be released after the festival concludes, likely in January 2026.
