On Instagram, Barretto shared photos of herself in cap and gown, expressing her joy over finally completing her degree at the Philippine Women’s University (PWU).
“At 51 years old, I finally wore this cap and gown,” she said on her Instagram post.
“For years, finishing college was a dream tucked away — paused for show business, raising children, public service, business, and building a life.”
“But God never forgot. In His perfect time, He gave me the courage to return, the strength to push through, and the joy of crossing this finish line.”
The actress said the moment became even more special because her children were present to celebrate with her.
"The sweetest part? My children were there to witness it — taking my photos and videos, handing me flowers and gifts. A moment so surreal, a full circle moment."
Barretto also extended her gratitude to PWU for giving her the opportunity to complete her studies and to her close friend, co-actress Ruffa Gutierrez, who encouraged her to pursue her unfinished dream.
Marjorie ended her post with an inspiring message to people her age who may still be holding on to unfulfilled dreams.
“And to those my age who still carry dreams in their hearts: it’s never too late, and you are never too old, to realize the dreams God placed in you,” she emphasized.
Marjorie completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts, as revealed by her eldest daughter Dani Barretto in an Instagram story.
